Late Production (1946–1960) · Skillet
Used price$50–$130live on eBay
The Lodge No. 10 is the roughly 12 inch skillet from Lodge's unmarked years. Like the No. 8, it is identified by the inset heat ring with three notches at about 9, 12 and 3 o'clock and a raised size number near the top notch; later examples add "Made in USA" and pan-type letters such as 10 SK. A few have a helper handle opposite the main handle. At this size the flatness check matters most: ask whether it sits flat without rocking or spinning, and ask for a photo pressed on a counter. Also check for hairline cracks from the rim, chips on the pour spouts, and pitting on the bottom. Even restored, a three-notch No. 10 typically costs about half as much as a Griswold No. 10, which makes it the value pick if you want a big vintage pan to cook in.
Common defects to inspect
Warp or spin (more common at this size); hairline rim cracks; spout chips; pitting; notches softened by blasting; later production sold as earlier
Note: As-found pans ask about $50–65 delivered; restored ones about $90–140.
How to identify a real Lodge (Vintage)
Usually no maker name. Skillets show an inset heat ring with one notch (1930s era) or three notches at about 9, 12 and 3 o'clock (from about the 1940s) and a raised size number near the top of the ring; later examples add MADE IN USA and letters such as SK. Early pans attributed to Blacklock have an outside heat ring, a raised size number on top of the handle and a raised molder's mark at 6 o'clock. Pieces cast with the LODGE name are generally later production.
Buying guide
From Sep 25, 2026 listings
9 three-notch Lodge No. 10s are listed. As-found ones ask about $52–60 delivered and restored ones $90–139, still about half a Griswold No. 10. The three notches sit in the inset heat ring at about 9, 12 and 3 o'clock; pans marked Made in USA with letters like SK are later castings, since three-notch Lodge runs into the 1980s, and they cook just as well. At 12 inches, ask whether it sits flat without rocking. One as-found pan asks about $151, more than any restored one. Cooks should pay the extra for the $90 restored pan, the cheapest one already done.

A #10 SK with the heat ring, about $52 delivered with Best Offer from a 100% seller, the lowest total and at the bottom of the band. Condition isn't described, so ask whether it sits flat and for a photo of the three notches.

Restored and dated 1945–55 by the seller, about $90 delivered with Best Offer from a 99.9% seller, the cheapest restored No. 10 by about $32. Ask for a photo of it sitting flat; a 12-inch pan shows any warp.
Lodge #10 Three Notch 3 Notched Cast Iron Skillet 1945-55 Restored Gla

Already restored, so it needs only a light oiling before it goes on the stove. A near-identical title from another seller asks about $122, so this is the one to buy cleaned.
