Late Production (1946–1960) · Cornbread Pan
Used price$20–$30live on eBay
Lodge's seven-stick corn pan is one of the cheapest vintage cast iron pieces you can buy and bakes corn sticks as well as anything. Older pans are marked with numbers such as 27C, 27C2 or 2702 and mold letters; Lodge still makes a similar pan today (the L27C3), so check the marks and the casting finish before paying a vintage price. The heat-ring notches used to date Lodge skillets don't apply to corn stick pans, so don't pay extra for a "three-notch" claim on one. Before buying: count the cavities, hold the pan up to light and check each cavity for a through-crack, and look for chips at the handle ends. Carbon inside the sticks is cosmetic and bakes off. At these prices there is little reason to pay extra for a restored pan. Wedge pans (8CB), five-stick and nine-ear pans in the same search are different items.
Common defects to inspect
Cracked cavity; chipped handle ends; current-production pans sold as vintage; worn kernel detail
Note: Most vintage pans ask about $20–30 delivered.
How to identify a real Lodge (Vintage)
Usually no maker name. Skillets show an inset heat ring with one notch (1930s era) or three notches at about 9, 12 and 3 o'clock (from about the 1940s) and a raised size number near the top of the ring; later examples add MADE IN USA and letters such as SK. Early pans attributed to Blacklock have an outside heat ring, a raised size number on top of the handle and a raised molder's mark at 6 o'clock. Pieces cast with the LODGE name are generally later production.
Buying guide
From Oct 1, 2026 listings
17 vintage Lodge seven-stick pans are listed, most about $20–30 delivered. Marks in the titles are 27C, 27C2, 2702 and H1/H2, and only the H1 seller gives a date, so ask for a photo of the back if age matters to you. Count the cavities and check each for a through-crack; carbon inside the sticks is cosmetic and bakes off. At these prices, buy for marks and sound cavities, not cleaning. An unused 27C2 asks $45 and an unmarked pan $56. The 8CB wedge skillets, 5-stick and 9-ear pans in the search are different pans, and the L27C3 is current production.

A 27C2 at about $21 delivered, Buy It Now, from a 100% seller, the lowest total, with shipping costing more than the pan. Ask for a close photo of the cavities to rule out cracks before you buy.
