Interwar Peak (1918–1945) · Cornbread Pan
Used price$35–$65live on eBay
The No. 262 is Griswold's small "tea size" Crispy Corn or Wheat Stick Pan: seven little corn-cob cavities in a pan about 8 inches long from handle to handle and a little over 4 inches wide. It's marked with the No. 262 and Griswold Crispy Corn or Wheat Stick Pan lettering, Erie PA U.S.A., and pattern number 625. It is a different pan from Griswold's full-size corn stick pans such as the No. 273 (pattern 930), which turn up in the same searches. The 262 is also one of the Griswold pieces known to have been reproduced, so check it closely: reproductions tend to show rough, grainy casting, sloppy or blurred lettering, wrong numbers such as 282 or 252, holes in both handles, or even misspelled lettering, and on originals the pointed tips of the sticks extend all the way to the edge. Then check each cavity for through-cracks by holding the pan up to light, look for crisp kernel detail (heavy restoration softens it), and treat rust on the back as cosmetic.
Common defects to inspect
Reproductions with rough casting, blurred lettering or wrong numbers (282/252); cracked stick cavity; softened kernel detail from aggressive cleaning; confusion with the full-size No. 273
Note: Most genuine 262s ask about $35–65 delivered; asks of $100 or more for this pan are well above the usual price.
How to identify a real Griswold
Erie-era pieces carry the Griswold cross-in-double-circle with ERIE, PA (U.S.A.) — large block logo pans fill much of the bottom, small block logo pans have a small stamp near the centre — or, before about 1907, just ERIE and a size number. A pattern number (for example 704 on a No. 8 skillet) usually sits near the handle, often with a mold letter. Griswold-branded pieces without ERIE in the mark were generally made in Sidney, Ohio, after 1957. Reproductions tend to show rough, unmilled surfaces and blurred lettering.
Buying guide
From Oct 1, 2026 listings
48 Griswold No. 262 pans were listed at the late-September check, and the cheapest, an auction, has since sold; most run about $35–65 delivered. This is the small tea-size pan with seven sticks, marked 262 on the front and pattern number 625 on the back. Check every stick cavity for cracks in the photos and look for sharp kernel detail; a cracked cavity takes about a third off the value, and heavy restoration softens the corn pattern. Three titles are copied word for word across several sellers, and a few asks run $100–160 for the same pan most people sell for $40–50. The No. 270, 273 and 282 pans in the same search are different patterns.

$30 with free shipping, Buy It Now, from a 99.7% seller, the lowest total and under the usual $35–65, and the title gives both the 262 and 625 marks. Ask for a close photo of the stick cavities to rule out cracks.
Tea Size - Griswold Corn/Wheat Stick Pan No. 262 -625

A tea-size 262 at about $31 delivered with Best Offer from a 100% seller, under the $35–65 band and less than $1 more than the cheapest. The title names 262 and Erie PA but not the 625 pattern number, so ask for a photo of the back and close shots of each cavity.
Griswold Mini #262 Crispy Corn/Wheat Stick Pan Erie PA USA 8”

Listed as seasoned, $60 with free shipping and Best Offer from a 100% seller, at the top of the typical band. You pay about $30 more than the cheapest Buy It Now pan for cleaned iron, so offer lower and ask for close cavity photos.
Vintage Griswold Seasoned Crispy Corn Wheat Stick Pan No 262 USA 625 C

Seasoned per the title, so it should bake on day one without a strip-and-season job. Check that the kernel detail is still sharp in the photos, since heavy restoration softens it.
