Interwar Peak (1918–1945) · Muffin Pan
Used price$75–$140live on eBay
The Griswold No. 11 French Roll Pan has twelve oblong cups in two rows of six, in a frame about 12½ by 6½ inches. Marked examples read "Griswold No. 11" on the front and carry pattern number 950 (or 950 A) with the Griswold name and Erie, PA on the back. Collectors catalogue a long run of variations, from early gate-marked castings through unmarked versions and the later fully marked pans, and some of the rarer variations ask far more than the common 950. Unmarked "New England Style" (N.E.S.) pans share the pattern and usually sell a little lower. Before buying: hold the pan up to the light and check every cup for a through-crack, which takes roughly 40–60% off; check the frame and end handles for cracks and chips; and make sure you're looking at the No. 11 — the No. 10 popover pan, No. 17, No. 26 and Vienna roll pans come up in the same searches and are different pieces. Carbon in the cups is cosmetic and comes out with a proper strip.
Common defects to inspect
Through-crack in a cup; cracked or chipped frame or handle; unmarked or NES pans sold as marked Griswold; other Griswold gem pans (No. 10, No. 17, No. 26) mislisted as the No. 11
Note: Most No. 11s ask about $75–140 delivered. Early and hard-to-find variations are priced individually and can run several hundred dollars; check a variation reference before paying a premium.
How to identify a real Griswold
Erie-era pieces carry the Griswold cross-in-double-circle with ERIE, PA (U.S.A.) — large block logo pans fill much of the bottom, small block logo pans have a small stamp near the centre — or, before about 1907, just ERIE and a size number. A pattern number (for example 704 on a No. 8 skillet) usually sits near the handle, often with a mold letter. Griswold-branded pieces without ERIE in the mark were generally made in Sidney, Ohio, after 1957. Reproductions tend to show rough, unmilled surfaces and blurred lettering.
Buying guide
From Sep 25, 2026 listings
32 Griswold No. 11 French roll pans are listed, most about $75–140 delivered. Look for pattern number 950 or 950A and check every cavity for a through-crack; a cracked cavity takes 40–60% off, so ask for a photo of the pan held up to light. Unmarked "New England Style" (NES) pans are the same pattern without the Griswold name and usually sell a little lower. Early gate-marked and slant-logo casts carry the collector premium, and rare variations are asked at $200–1,000. The No. 17, No. 26 and Vienna roll pans that fill the same search are different pieces.

About $41 delivered with Best Offer from a 100% seller, marked 11 and 950 per the title, well under half the usual price. The bare title says nothing about cracks, so ask for a photo of the pan held up to light before you offer.
