Interwar Peak (1918–1945) · Skillet
Used price$220–$400live on eBay
The Griswold No. 10 is the roughly 12 inch family skillet, and the large block logo version (about 1920–1940) is one of the more valuable everyday Griswold sizes. The bottom shows the big cross-and-double-circle with GRISWOLD in block letters and "ERIE, PA., U.S.A."; the pattern number is 716, usually with a mold letter (716 A, 716 B and so on). Some have a heat ring, later ones are smooth. Because it is a big, heavy casting, the No. 10 is more likely than smaller sizes to have picked up a warp over decades of use on high heat, so the flatness test matters most here: ask for a photo or video of it pressed on a flat counter, and walk away from rocking or spinning pans unless they're priced as projects. Also check for cracks running from the rim, chips on the rim and pour spouts, pitting, and plating. Sellers often charge $45–75 to ship a No. 10, so compare delivered totals rather than the item price.
Common defects to inspect
Warp or spin (more common at this size); rim and spout chips; hairline cracks; pitting; heavy shipping costs; earlier slant-logo pans and later small-logo pans mixed into the same search
Note: Most listings ask about $220–400 delivered; as-found pans that sit flat can be found near $180–200.
How to identify a real Griswold
Erie-era pieces carry the Griswold cross-in-double-circle with ERIE, PA (U.S.A.) — large block logo pans fill much of the bottom, small block logo pans have a small stamp near the centre — or, before about 1907, just ERIE and a size number. A pattern number (for example 704 on a No. 8 skillet) usually sits near the handle, often with a mold letter. Griswold-branded pieces without ERIE in the mark were generally made in Sidney, Ohio, after 1957. Reproductions tend to show rough, unmilled surfaces and blurred lettering.

From Sep 25, 2026 listings
12 Griswold No. 10 large-logo skillets (pattern 716) are listed, most at about $220–400 delivered. Complete pans start near $200; restored pans and the earlier slant-logo 716A sit higher, and a flat heat-ring 716A and a smooth-bottom block-logo pan ask $463–475. At 12 inches and about 6½ pounds, warp is the check that matters, so ask for a photo on a flat counter, and look for rim chips and worn pour spouts. Shipping runs $10–76 here, so compare delivered totals. Cooks get the most for the money from the restored $215 pan; collectors should look at the slant-logo 716A.

A no-bid auction at $125, about $145 delivered at the opening price, from a 100% seller, and the title says no cracks. With nearly eight days left it will climb; a max near $180, about $200 delivered, keeps it under the cheapest Buy It Now 716.
